LIFESKILL
Life skills have been defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as “abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life”.
Life skills through curriculum include the work experience, values, critical thinking, problem solving skills, health and well-being, social activities, environmental awareness, art and craft, physical education, capacity building and confidence building.
The term ‘Life Skills’ refers to the skills you need to make the most out of life.Life skills are usually associated with managing and living a better quality of life. They help us to accomplish our ambitions and live to our full potential.
Any skill that is useful in our life can be considered a life skill. Tying one’s shoe laces, trying to knot a tie, attaching buttons to clothing, swimming, driving a car and using a computer are, for most people, useful life skills. Practicing life skills leads to qualities such as Self-esteem, Sociability and Tolerance.
