The Department of Urdu lays emphasis on the inter‑disciplinary education in Urdu. It provides an atmosphere, which helps the student in developing their intelligence, organising ability and the development of creative talents among students. It also gives the knowledge to make the students to read and write successfully and to create the ability of the students to express or write what they think and knowledge about to understand to read and speak Urdu language. A communicative approach is used. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) are practiced. Students engage in interactive language activities, participating in group and pair work according to a syllabus based on systematic grammatical progression. A comprehensive continuous internal assessment system ensures development of the intellectual capabilities of the students. Such diligent and serious study, needless to say, is ultimately expected to transform the students into individuals that can make a difference to the society. |
